It seems almost inconceivable that just 48 years ago there were no formal support services in Warrnambool for people with disabilities and their families.
A small group of local families concerned about this lack of support decided to do something about it, and proved that where there’s a need there’s a community ready to help.
Their vision and commitment has evolved into Mpower Inc, an accredited, community-based agency taking the lead in providing quality services that empower people to have meaningful connections to their communities throughout south-west Victoria.
To provide our wide range of services and community programs across south-west Victoria, Mpower Inc receives funding from government sources, primarily NDIS, the Victorian Department of Families, Fairness and Housing, along with donations from philanthropic trusts. Mpower Inc. continues to work towards the vision of a community inspired and empowered by people of all ages and abilities.
Our multi-disciplinary team of skilled Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists offer flexible services either in the home, at our offices or in other locations requested by families. Our goal is to help children and teens reach their full potential and maximise their quality and enjoyment of life.
Our therapist strive to improve early learning communication, motor and social skills, sensory awareness, the transition to school and social and community participation within our clients. In conjunction with these areas of focus, we also assist teens with daily life and financial planning, enabling Mpower Inc to deliver life-changing services to south-west Victorian families.
Mpower Inc endeavours to think outside the square. All our services include a specialised assessment of an individual’s skills, abilities and needs. This enables Mpower Inc to provide tailored support services and programs for teens, adults and seniors.
Such support services may include personal care in the home or community (as well as community access), assistance in managing life stages/transitions and the development of daily living skills.
